Andalusia, the awakening of the senses

Slideshow

Andalusia is a region in the south of Spain. It is a region of contrasts: ancient cities and deserts, amazing beaches along the Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz and the Sierra Nevada mountain range where the highest mountain in mainland Spain is found and also the most southerly ski resort in Europe. Or the incredible Patio de Los Leones in the Alhambra. Andalusia is a region steeped in Moorish architecture and the Alhambra in Granada is widely regarded as the pinaccle of Moorish architecture.

For over a month and a half a National Geographic Channel team accompanied me in an extensive tour of the provinces of Andalucia, from Cabo de Gata on the East to the mouth of the Guadalquivir on the West. The resulting documentary, called "Andalusia: the awakening of the senses" depicted the beauty of this region of the south of Spain.
