This is a silently progressive malady which only manifests itself in its advanced stages, usually when the kidneys fail and hemodialysis becomes essential.

 

Renal transplantation is the only alternative to a life connected to a dialysis machine. The book "Connected to Life" can be read or downloaded on the Internet in Spanish. 

 

The text  by Jordi Rovira relates the dramatic stories of several end-stage renal disease patients.
