Socially Deprived (2002)

In 2002, the La Caixa Foundation commissioned me to document the daily life of deprived groups, such as families in jail accused of minor crimes, undocumented migrants, daily life in shanty towns, children in sheltered apartments, people with physical disabilities and psychics, etc.

The images were used in national campaigns promoting financial aid for these groups, based on grants from Fundació La Caixa.

For this reason some people, especially prisoners who would soon be looking for work, asked me to hide their faces. Children were showing on their backs because their legal protection belongs to the State when their parents are behind bars.
