The “Girona Est” project consisted in taking portraits of residents in a group of five marginalized neighborhoods located around the prosperous city of Girona. I photographed people of different ethnicities and nationalities who live together, making an effort every day, not only to get ahead in an increasingly competitive world, but also to fight against the stigma of living in neighborhoods with a bad reputation.
